CivilianCyber Receives HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion for 2nd Year

In a virtual ceremony today, U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh once again recognized CivilianCyber as a recipient of the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Platinum Award. The U.S. Department of Labor, Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

“It is an honor to be recognized again by the HireVets program for our efforts in helping veterans to transition into well paying, high-demand careers both here in Virginia as well as across the country,” said Bobby Keener, CEO of CivilianCyber.

CivilianCyber joins 835 other companies from forty-nine states, plus the District of Columbia, which were awarded either Gold or Platinum status. CivilianCyber achieved this honor by showing a commitment to hiring veterans through their Registered Apprenticeship Programs that reskill and mentor veterans into long-term, high-demand careers via a personalized plan that builds on the diverse skills acquired via their military service.

Recipients of the HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages, availability of veteran-specific resources, leadership programming for veterans, dedicated human resource efforts, and pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,400 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.
