CivilianCyber Receives 2021 HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award

Richmond, VA – November 17, 2021 – In a virtual ceremony last week, U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized Coronet Technology Enterprises, Inc. (dba CivilianCyber) as one of only 303 recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Platinum Award. The U.S. Department of Labor, Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Department of Labor HireVets program. More importantly we are pleased to see the recognition of veterans and their contribution to the country and its workforce,” said Bobby Keener, CEO of CivilianCyber. “We look forward to helping both veterans and businesses by continuing to match these professionals to high-demand careers.”

CivilianCyber joins 848 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who were awarded Gold or Platinum status. CivilianCyber achieved this honor by showing a commitment to hiring veterans through their Registered Apprenticeship Programs that reskill and mentor veterans into long-term, high-demand careers via a personalized plan that builds on the diverse skills acquired via their military service.

Recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages, availability of veteran-specific resources, leadership programming for veterans, dedicated human resource efforts, and pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,400 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.
